Paris vs. New York

So far I can say that my birthday this year was better than I thought it would be..
It was on the first weekend of the spring break and I thought that I would spend it alone...which kinda made me depressed at the beginning of the year. I am not a big birthday person that's true. I don't really like to celebrate my birthdays, the times that I throw a party are really like 5 in my entire life. There are even times that I didn't even get to see my friends to celebrate it. Or there are times I didn't get to see my family because I was at the dorm. But at least one of them -my friends or my family- was there just even to say 'happy birthday'...

Well, of course being so many kilometers away from home and friends and family put me in a very depressive mode. I have friends over here but if my birthday wasn't override with the spring break I wouldn't make a big deal about it...

But it didn't happen as I have imagined. My lovely roommate take me with her to New York so that I don't spend it alone. I also need to thank her friend Tanvi too for letting me stay at her place, she didn't know me prior to that... When I was in New York, I got to chance to give my self a lovely birthday present with macaroons from LaDureé... And of course we went outside to dance. I was so lucky that couple Maxwell people were in the city too and they also came.. Well, even though it wasn't technically my birthday party, but at least I wasn't alone and had fun...

Before all that, my dear friends Burak, Aybike, Bengi, Beril, İbo and Ezgi sent me a very funny video that made my day!!! Day actually wanted to surprise me with a Skype chat but I was busy walking around in New York that day and missed it.. But I am glad that I missed it because now I have a video to keep for eternity!!! =D
I kinda kept the festivities go on over the next weekend and went to Providence to be with Can Gençler... It was St.Patrick's Day and the week after that was going to be Can's birthday..So we kinda celebrated 3 stuff. And I also got to see Eren in Boston!!!

Well, the month hasn't ended yet.. My best friend Şegül was keep telling me that I have a surprise for you. I kinda realized that she must have sent me a letter or something... Today the mail arrived, and my present was a lovely book with a lovely card attached to it. So the book is called "Paris versus New York". There are illustrations in the book comparing Paris and New York, which are really funny sometimes...
On the card there is a lady that's just chillin' despite all the mess she needs to clean!!! Of course that reminded her me =D... and the note she wrote behind reminded me Bridget Jones's Diary because Şegül wrote "I love you just the way you are"..

So I had a great birthday this year, it spread to the whole month and I am just happy!!!!!
